SD card access depends on apps. Actually Motorola does not impose restrictions on SD card access for apps (Samsung did impose). Essentially, any apps in Moto G can access SD card and create folders in root level.
USB will not function if the screen is locked. This is to protect your data from unauthorized access.
After a few tries, it should allow you to use backup PIN/password for the pattern.
In Android Lollipop, the runtime is always ART. There are no other options.
Normally, Moto G will reconnect to last connected device automatically. But this depends on the accessories as well.
You can test to disconnect, power off the accessories, then power on again to see whether it can reconnect.

The ! next to signal strength bar indicates no data connection. It also appears if mobile data connection is not stable.
You can check the network status in Settings–About phone–Status. Check cellular network type and cellular network status.
For your case, did you set the priority to voice? You should enable mobile data on only one of the sim cards.
Which voice command? For Google Now voice command, you can go to All apps–Google settings–Search & Now–Voice –OK Google detection, to disable it.
But for Google Now launcher, you cannot remove the Google search bar. You can try other launcher if you want to remove the Google Search bar.
In that case, you can simply call the phone company to disable mobile data (they may call it GPRS or whatever) for SIM card 2. It should be free and the SIM card 2 will then never use mobile data.
In the dual SIM settings, you can specify one for data.
Also, for pre-paid SIM cards without expensive data plan, you should turn off mobile data globally and turn on only when you need it.
Moto G does not support Miracast (wireless display). Please note, the cast screen button is for Chromecast and only works on Nexus devices.

Any notification on Moto G? does it charge the phone?
Do you get any notification on the phone?
Can you verify that the driver is installed successfully in Control Panel–Programs and features?
Not sure about this issue. The cause for each accident may be different, although the syndrome is similar (not connected). As I know, there are no serious bugs on wifi connection in Moto G 2014.
