But you lose the new features in Google Now.
January 17, 2015 at 2:21 am in reply to: How to change the app button and app screen color from white to transparent? #1037simonKeymasterThis is the “new” Google Now launcher. There are a lot of complaints about it.
But you cannot do anything unless you use other third-party launchers. If you updated to Android Lollipop 5.0 already, you should also notice the background for settings is also white (not black).
You may have to get used to it….At least Google thinks this is better….
simonKeymasterFirst, check whether Moto G charges after you connect it to the PC. If not, the cable or USB port is not working.
If it charges, but there are no notifications on Moto G. You may check the device manager in your PC to find out any errors.
Please note, you need install the Motorola device manager as an administrator.
It seems some Windows XP users got the issues.
December 13, 2014 at 1:48 pm in reply to: Rename whatsapp audio files : Save a mp3 as an alarm in clock ? #974simonKeymasterMoto G does not have any phone call recording app. In most regions, recording a phone call without the consent from the other party is illegal.
There are some apps that require root. Most do NOT work any more.
simonKeymasterYou need unpair them first. Then let them find each other with visibility turning on.
You cannot uninstall Bluetooth driver for the phone as it is part of the firmware. You need reset the phone if you want to clear all old settings. (you need backup your data and files before resetting).
simonKeymasterThe PC may use some cached files. If it is really paired, your Moto G should show it is paired.
Anyway, the Bluetooth on laptop can be very tricky. If you have the driver file (or bluetooth utility from the vendor for your laptop), you can try to reinstall it.
simonKeymasterYou can try to turn on visibility of both devices. For Moto G, go to Settings–Bluetooth, tap your Moto G name (default is XT10XX). It then should display “visible to all nearby Bluetooth devices” with the counter.

You can use ES file explorer to navigate to /storage/sdcard0/whatsApp/Media/. You can then copy the files to /storage/sdcard0/alarms folder. If you are not sure about ES File explorer, please follow this guide: http://motoeguide.com/moto-e-guides/manage-files-moto-e-es-file-explorer-file-manager/
2. Please read this guide: How to use alarm and customize alarm tones on Moto E, Moto G and Moto X? (http://motoeguide.com/moto-e-guides/use-alarm-customize-alarm-tones-moto-e-moto-g-moto-x/ )
November 15, 2014 at 2:18 pm in reply to: New folder creation, shifting of snaps and locking folder #927simonKeymasterYou need a file manager to create a folder. You may try ES File explorer (http://motoeguide.com/moto-e-guides/manage-files-moto-e-es-file-explorer-file-manager/).
ES File explorer also allows you to hide or encrypt files/folders. Please backup these files before hiding/encrypting.
November 4, 2014 at 11:44 am in reply to: How do I load my music into my phone and access it without internet? #901simonKeymasterFor DRMed music, no. This is the purpose of DRM.
If you bought music in iTunes, you’d better consume them in Apple devices or apps released by Apple.
Unfortunately, Apple has not released iTunes app for Android.
November 3, 2014 at 12:06 pm in reply to: How do I load my music into my phone and access it without internet? #897simonKeymasterThe problem is in iTunes. The DRMed music cannot be played without iTunes, which is NOT available on Android.
For other music files, if you can download them, you can of course access them offline.
simonKeymasterMoto G use white LED. So there is only one color: white.
You cannot change it.
simonKeymasterHi David, yes, you can transfer the audio to Bluetooth speaker when the wired headset is inserted. You have 3 possible outputs: headset, phone speaker and Bluetooth speaker.
You may tap the icon in the top right to switch.
October 10, 2014 at 12:56 am in reply to: How can I download apps to PC then install on G with USB? #832simonKeymasterthank you for sharing the detailed guide on how to download apk files from Play store.
simonKeymasterIt does work with Bluetooth headset. Yes, you still need wired headset because it acts as the antenna.
On almost all smartphones, you need use the wired headset as FM radio antenna. Bluetooth headset cannot act as the antenna for the tuner.
You can also pair the radio with a Bluetooth speaker or sound system in the car.
