On the quick settings when I select to switch on location a google location service dialogue appears asking me to consent to data collection. If I choose agree the symbol on the quick settings lights up. When I touch the symbol again to switch it off the symbol is only half lit up – why is this and what does it mean? Finally is there a quick method of completely turning off gps location data collection without having to go into settings each time?
In Moto G, GPS is buried under the location settings. There is quick toggle to turn it on/off.
The good thing is that it won’t drain much battery if you just leave it on.
You may try some third-party toggles, for example, Notification toggle ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.j4velin.notificationToggle) But the GPS in most of these toggles are very likely linked to the location settings page.
