Hi We just got a Moto G and are using it on T-Mobile with an account that restricts the talk to 100 minutes per month. I read that cell phone users can make calls from their home wifi network and save on minutes counted towards their cell account. Can this be done with the Moto G? I have Time Warner internet and a router that supplies strong wifi all around our house. If it can be done with the Moto G, how would I accomplish making calls on wifi only?
You can install any VoIP clients to make calls through WiFi, for example, Google voice, Skype, Vibrate (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.viber.voip )..
The problem is that it is not free if you call a phone number. It will be free only if both of you are using the same service and are both online. Of course, it is far cheaper than mobile calls.
T-Mobile also offers WiFi calling for some plans.
